How is a doula different from a midwife?
Midwives provide medical care and clinical support. A doula offers continuous emotional and practical support, focusing on your wellbeing, comfort, and experience.
When should I book a doula?
Many people book during pregnancy once they know they’d like additional support. However, you’re welcome to get in touch at any stage, including later in pregnancy or after birth.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. A free consultation gives us both the opportunity to get to know one another and explore whether my support feels like the right fit for you.
Do you support partners as well?
Absolutely. Supporting partners is an important part of my role, helping them feel confident, informed, and included.
What does birth doula support include?
Birth doula support may include antenatal sessions, emotional reassurance, birth preparation, on-call support around your due date, and continuous support during labour and birth.
Do you attend home births, hospital births, and birth centre births?
Yes. I support all birth settings and work alongside your chosen care providers.
When are you on call for birth support?
For full birth packages, I am on call from 37 weeks until the birth of your baby.
What happens if plans change during birth?
Birth can be unpredictable. I offer calm, steady support and help you adapt to changes while keeping your preferences and wellbeing at the centre.
What is postnatal doula support?
Postnatal support focuses on care after birth, offering emotional reassurance, practical help, feeding support, and space for rest and recovery.
What kind of practical support do you offer?
This can include light cleaning, simple cooking (using food you provide), caring for your baby while you rest, and helping you settle into daily routines.
How are postnatal hours arranged?
Hours are flexible and arranged to suit your needs. Each visit is a minimum of two hours.
Can postnatal support be extended?
Yes. Additional hours can be booked, or we can discuss a package that suits you.
Do you support all feeding methods?
Yes. I offer non-judgemental support for breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and combination feeding.
Do you offer antenatal feeding support?
Yes. Antenatal feeding sessions help you feel informed and prepared before birth.
What happens during a postnatal feeding session?
We’ll talk about how feeding has been going, observe your baby feeding, and explore gentle ways to support latch, positioning, and confidence.
Will you refer me to other professionals if needed?
If appropriate, I can signpost or refer you to a lactation consultant or another healthcare professional.

Hypnobirthing focuses on relaxation, breathing, and understanding your body during birth, helping to reduce fear and build confidence.
Do I need to plan a natural birth to do hypnobirthing?
No. Hypnobirthing can be helpful for all types of birth, including planned caesarean or belly births.
Can my partner attend hypnobirthing sessions?
Yes. Partners are encouraged to attend so they feel informed and involved.

Birth trauma support offers a safe space to talk about and process a difficult or traumatic birth experience.
What is the three step rewind process?
The three step rewind process is a gentle, trauma-informed approach used to help process traumatic memories in a safe and supportive way.
Is birth trauma support suitable long after birth?
Yes. Support can be helpful whether your experience was recent or some time ago.
What happens in a pregnancy relaxation session?
Sessions include calm breathing, a guided body scan, gentle discussion, and a relaxation script to help you feel relaxed and connected to your baby.
Are relaxation sessions suitable at any stage of pregnancy?
Yes. Sessions can be adapted to suit all stages of pregnancy.
When can my baby start baby massage?
Baby massage is suitable from around six weeks until your baby begins crawling.
Do I need to bring anything to the sessions?
No. Everything you need will be provided, including massage oil and supporting materials.
What are the benefits of baby massage?
Baby massage can support bonding, relaxation, digestion, and confidence in handling and soothing your baby.
Do you offer virtual services?
Yes. Many services are available virtually, including birth support, postnatal support, feeding support, and relaxation sessions.

Virtual support can be very effective, offering reassurance, guidance, and continuity of care from the comfort of your home.
